The Museums Commission announced the launch of ‘Art of the Kingdom’, an art exhibition designed to introduce Saudi contemporary art to the international scene. The travelling exhibition looks to showcase the best of Saudi artistic practices and foster a deeper understanding of the Kingdom’s evolving art landscape.

The exhibition will kick off in Brazil in November 2024, coinciding with the G20 Summit, where a curated selection of works by leading contemporary Saudi artists will be displayed. Following its debut, the exhibition will move to Riyadh, hosted by the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in JAX District in early 2025. The tour will conclude at the National Museum of China in Beijing at the end of 2025.

The inaugural edition in Brazil, titled ‘Poetic Illuminations’, will feature over 15 Saudi artists across generations and artistic practices. With a variety of visual arts, including installations, sculptures, oil paintings, and drawings, the exhibition reflects the rich diversity of Saudi Arabia’s cultural and artistic scene.

Through this initiative, the Museums Commission aims to empower Saudi artists on the global stage while enhancing the Kingdom’s cultural standing within the international art community.
