The Public Prosecution in Saudi Arabia has announced penalties for those who tamper with the marine environment and water bodies. Under the new Environment Law, violators may face up to 10 years of imprisonment and fines reaching SAR 30 million.

The regulations specifically address environmental crimes, such as pollution from chemicals and waste, with fines ranging from SAR 1 million to SAR 30 million depending on the severity of the violation.
