Official Dates for Red Sea International Film Festival 2024 Announced
The festival is a celebration of global cinema, with a special spotlight on films made in the Middle East and North Africa.
The fourth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from December 5th to the 14th.
Held in Jeddah, this prestigious film festival provides a platform for Arab filmmakers and industry professionals to connect, compete and show their work. Filmmakers are also invited to hone and share their craft through the event’s series of masterclasses and workshops. The festival runs alongside the Red Sea Souq, a four-day market that facilitates new business opportunities by allowing those in the film industry to connections and foster collaboration through its curated schedule of pitching sessions, one-on-one meetings, screenings, industry talks, and networking opportunities.
The third edition of the festival, which was held in December 2023, featured 125 films from 75 countries. Acclaimed writer, director, and producer Baz Luhrmann was the festival’s Head of the Jury. The festival and industry Souq was attended by over 5,000 delegates and 983 companies. Last year, Zarrar Kahn’s ‘In Flames’ was awarded the Golden Yusr for Best Film Feature, and Farah Nabilsi was awarded the Jury Prize for her film ‘The Teacher’.
