Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced a partnership with the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation (SCHF), with the aim of boosting adventure tourism across the Red Sea region.

RSG is responsible for the regenerative tourism destination The Red Sea, and the luxury wellness megaproject AMAALA. SCHF, meanwhile, is the national governing body for rock-climbing and mountaineering in the Kingdom. The collaboration will be facilitated through RSG’s adventure sports brand, Akun, which is the face of all their hiking, climbing and adventure experiences.

The partnership will provide training and opportunities for certification as climbing or hiking guides. It will also create opportunities for SCHF trainees to apply their skills in real-world situations, and even spend time doing placements or internships with Akun. In exchange, SCHF will send qualified trainers for temporary support, as well as permanent placements.

Furthermore, SCHF is offering technical and safety assessments for the validation of new RSG activities and locations, in order to ensure that their standards meet international safety and sustainability requirements.

RSG and SCHF may soon expand their collaboration to create hiking and climbing content for the Red Sea region, such as information about trails, climbing sites, logistical information and safety guidelines. In addition, RSG’s destinations will be activated through a range of local, regional and international events to highlight the natural beauty and adventure potential of the region, including climbing competitions, hiking events, and festivals.
