This new route offers four weekly flights from Jeddah and Madinah to Medan.

Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, Saudia, has launched its first direct flights to Medan in North Sumatra, marking its second Indonesian destination after Jakarta. This new route offers four weekly services from Jeddah and Madinah, aligning with the airline’s broader mission to connect the Kingdom with the world, particularly in support of pilgrims and visitors to the two holy mosques.

The inaugural flight was celebrated at Madinah’s Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport, attended by key figures including Indonesia’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Abdulaziz Ahmed.

Established in 2021, the Kingdom’s Air Connectivity Program aims to expand Saudi Arabia’s air routes to 250 destinations worldwide, transporting 330 million passengers by 2030. Saudia’s new route to Medan is a significant step in this direction.
