The Aurora Tech Award 2025 has opened applications to women tech entrepreneurs worldwide, giving them the opportunity to showcase their innovations. Since its inception in 2020, the award has aimed to recognize and support women founders of IT startups who push the boundaries of technology. This year, the award offers expanded opportunities and increased financial support to further empower women tech leaders.

The prize fund has been increased significantly: $30,000 for first place, $20,000 for second place, $15,000 for third place, and $10,000 each for fourth and fifth place. The evaluation process now includes three stages: longlist, midlist, and shortlist. Venture fund analysts will review applications, selecting 100 for pitching sessions, with 15 making the final shortlist. Shortlisted candidates will receive enhanced mentoring from industry experts over two to two and a half months to refine their projects.

“Supporting women in tech isn’t just about leveling the playing field; it’s about unlocking the full potential of innovation,” Nadine Hossam, The Partnership Manager for Aurora Tech Award, tells StartupScene. “Women entrepreneurs bring fresh perspectives that are essential for solving today’s complex problems.”

Women entrepreneurs leading startups with no more than $4 million in funding and that have been operating for under five years are eligible to apply. A functional prototype is required, while idea-stage projects are not eligible. Applications are open until November 21st, 2024, on the Aurora Tech Award website.

The Aurora Tech Award is an initiative organized by inVision, the nonprofit arm of the international ride-hailing service inDrive.
