New Bridge to Enhance Access to Mall of the Emirates
A new bridge is set to be constructed to directly connect the Sheikh Zayed Road to Mall of the Emirates
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new AED 165 million project to improve access to the iconic Mall of the Emirates. The project’s centerpiece is a 300-meter bridge on Sheikh Zayed Road, dedicated to providing direct access to the mall’s parking facilities.
The single-lane bridge is expected to significantly reduce travel times for motorists, particularly those coming from Jebel Ali, with journey times slashed from 10 minutes to just one. For those traveling from Umm Suqeim, the reduction is equally impressive, dropping from 15 to eight minutes.
Beyond the bridge, the project also includes enhancements to pedestrian and cycling paths, as well as a widening of the existing ramp at the Umm Suqeim intersection to improve traffic flow.
Opened in 2005, the Mall of the Emirates has become a major tourist and shopping destination, attracting over 40 million visitors annually. The mall holds 454 shops, 96 restaurants and cafes, and popular entertainment venues such as Ski Dubai.
