Ministry of Education Creates Committees to Review School Conditions
The committees will propose solutions for schools with crowded classrooms and a shortage of teachers.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has directed educational administrations to establish inspection committees across Egypt’s governorates. These committees will conduct on-site inspections, with a particular focus on class density issues.
Egypt’s new Minister of Education, Mohamed Abdel Latif, revealed that the most pressing issue facing the education system in Egypt is the density of students in classes, as well as a shortage of teachers. Classes are extremely crowded, and some have up to 130 students. The minister also mentioned that administrative solutions such as utilising Al-Azhar educational institutions, youth centres and other buildings affiliated with government ministries would be considered to help resolve this issue.
