Sharjah Government Reorganises Sharjah Business Women Council

The decree outlines the council’s goals, including the promotion of Sharjah Business Women Council locally and internationally.

Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree to reorganise the Sharjah Business Women Council. 

According to the decree, the English name of the council will be henceforth abbreviated to ‘SBWC’. The council’s main office will be located in Sharjah, but Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the honorary president, may establish branches and offices in other cities and regions, as she sees fit. 

The decree also outlines the council’s goals, which include the promotion of the Sharjah Business Women Council, locally and internationally, to create a sustainable and supportive environment for business women and female entrepreneurs. It also aims to shift the attitudes and culture of women towards different business sectors, encourage competition among female entrepreneurs, and facilitate ways for women to overcome economic obstacles they encounter. 

The council shall also have a president appointed by the honorary president, and the council shall be managed by a director, who will also be appointed by the honorary with the assistance of a number of other members. 

Finally, the decree also regulates several legal aspects of the council, such as the advisory committee, financial resources, use of specialised agencies, organisational structure, exemptions, replacement, enforcement and publication.
