Dubai Health Authority Launches Blue Café to Support Autism Care

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has launched the ‘Blue Café’ initiative to enhance autism care, and support research in the field. This initiative is designed to provide healthcare support for children with autism and to assist their families through various resources and community engagement.
The first phase of the Blue Café initiative offers an interactive digital platform featuring educational resources on how to care for children with autism. This platform aims to empower parents and caregivers with easily accessible, research-based educational content tailored by learning experts at Dubai Health.
As part of the initiative, DHA plans to fund research initiatives focused on enhancing autism care by leveraging its expertise and resources. These efforts are expected to provide new insights into therapeutic methods and effective care strategies.
The initiative offers remote seminars that translate research findings into practical therapeutic methods. The Blue Café also includes an interactive community space that allows families and caregivers of autistic children to communicate and share experiences. This community-based approach originated from a clinical advisory program at Al Jalila Children's Hospital.
A physical Blue Café will soon be established, providing a welcoming space for families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to connect. The proceeds from the café will be directed toward further research into autism care, ensuring continued support and development of resources.
The Blue Café initiative is supported by donor funding to ensure its financial sustainability and positive impact. The choice of the color blue for the initiative reflects its association with autism awareness, symbolizing calm, balance and containment.
