With Sole DXB announcing its 2024 edition set for December 13th to the 15th, we look back at our sit-down with vibrant Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj at last year's event. Sole DXB, a celebrated Dubai-based festival that merges street culture, fashion, music and art, has become a significant platform for regional and international creatives for over a decade. 

Hassan Hajjaj, often dubbed the ‘Andy Warhol of Marrakech’, is renowned for his eclectic style that fuses traditional Moroccan aesthetics with contemporary pop culture. His work spans photography, fashion and installation art, capturing the vibrant spirit of Moroccan street life. 

Here, Hajjaj shares his insights on the rise of Arab youth culture and identity, whilst reflecting on how events like Sole DXB have played a pivotal role in shaping the region's creative scene. 

"I've seen this shift where young people understand their culture and are proud of it," Hajjaj says.
