Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Holding announced the resumption of construction on the Jeddah Economic Company Tower, which will stand at 1,000 metres, making it the world’s tallest building upon completion in 2028. The agreement to continue work was signed with Saudi Binladin Group, and was valued at SAR 7.2 billion.

Currently, 63 of the planned 157 floors are built, with construction expected to take an additional 42 months. Financing will come from internal funds and banking facilities, as part of the larger Jeddah Economic City project.

The tower, designed by Adrian Smith, the architect behind Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, will include a Four Seasons hotel, offices, and luxury residential spaces. Prince Alwaleed bin Talal shared the news on social media, stating, "We’re back," alongside an artist’s rendering of the tower.
