800 New Chinese Language Teaching Jobs Offered Amidst Rising Demand
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with China’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation, plans to create language teaching roles across Saudi Arabia.
In collaboration with China’s Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Ministry of Education plans to create 800 new teaching positions across primary and middle schools focused on Chinese languages. The initiative comes shortly after the placement of 175 Chinese language teachers earlier in 2024.
As part of the effort, specialised training programs for educators have been launched at Tianjin University in China. These programs are designed to equip teachers with the skills necessary to meet the growing demand for Chinese language instruction in Saudi schools.
The creation of these 800 new positions reflects the increasing importance of Chinese languages in a global context, especially as Saudi Arabia looks to strengthen its economic, diplomatic and cultural ties with China. This expansion also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader educational reforms, which emphasises multilingualism and global connectivity.
